Appointed to assist the client and contractor with the construction stage and building regulation information for an extensive redevelopment of a sunken two-storey property overlooking the Severn Estuary.

A design review of the approved scheme with the client required a subsequent non-material amendment to rationalise the elevation while working within the approved height and scale parameters approved.

The new high end luxury home provides an L-shaped 4/5-bedroom home with a large open plan kitchen, living and dining space with a gable glazed elevation overlooking the estuary to the north. The lower ground floor provided a patio platform to maximise these views and spaces for secondary living areas and integral garage.

Externally the property was clad with stone on the lower ground floor, changing to render at ground, and a slate roof.  This transition of materials provided a better rooted property that sat within the sloping landscape and provided platforms for looking out to the estuary.

The contemporary design has created a series of open plan spaces that are filled with natural light and offer great connections to the exterior spaces.
