What started as a small reconfiguration and extension quickly grew to a whole house renovation and extension that would transform a white rendered cottage with small windows to a stone clad home with a large timber framed gable looking out over the much-improved garden landscape.

The proposed works were limited by green belt policy but through clever use of space and demolition of the annex and garage, the overall volume would decrease while the usable space and garden access for the family would increase.

Construction work focused on a new rear/side dormer that would provide the head space for a master bedroom and link the house to the garden through a renovated kitchen and dining space.

The external render was taken off the cottage to reveal the original stone and through refurbished dormers, windows, a new porch, and rainwater goods would transform the front elevation to a more welcoming and more countryside suited property.

Internal renovations were extensive and would provide a reworked 5-bed property that would open up to the rear garden through a new timber gable.
